This article provides information about nodes that show the message 'Overall Hardware Status' has state: Could Not Poll.

Cause

The device failed to pass the SNMP polling test. Therefore, the Orion Platform failed to collect device SNMP data.

In the Management widget on the Node Details page, click Edit Node. In the Polling Method section, if SNMP and ICMP are selected as the polling method, click the Test button. In the following example, you can see that the test failed.

Resolution

Please make sure the device passes the SNMP Test: Troubleshoot a Test Failed result for SNMP nodes in Orion Platform.
