New Alerts UI Global Filter and Dashboard Failure After Custom Property Deletion
This article discusses an issue where the All Active Alerts dashboard fails to load in the New Alerts UI introduced in version 2026.1 after a Custom Property used in the dashboard or Global Filter is removed from the system.

Overview
After removing a Custom Property that was previously used in the All Active Alerts dashboard (including Global Filters), the dashboard query may fail and not regenerate automatically.
Users may experience:
-
Dashboard table not loading
-
Global Filter not working
-
Error in Alerts & Activity → Alerts (New UI)
-
RunQuery failure referencing a missing Custom Property (e.g.,
ResponsibleTeam)
Product section
Cause
When a Custom Property is deleted:
-
The underlying SWQL query used by the All Active Alerts dashboard still references the removed property.
-
The widget configuration retains stale metadata.
-
The query engine cannot resolve the property from
Orion.AlertConfigurationsCustomProperties. -
The dashboard does not automatically regenerate its query schema.
Resolution
A fix for this issue is planned for a future release of the SolarWinds Platform. Watch this article for updates. In the meantime, use one of the workarounds below.
WORKAROUNDS:
Option 1: Recreate the Custom Property
- Recreate the deleted Custom Property (same name and type:Alert).
- This allows the existing query to resolve successfully.
Option 2: Use Legacy Alerts UI
Switch to the Legacy Alerts View as a temporary workaround if the New UI continues to fail.
