Network settings are not saved after running netconfig

This article addresses an issue that prevents you from configuring your SEM system with an IP address after running the netconfig wizard.

Overview

This article applies to Security Event Manager (formerly Log & Event Manager).
After you complete the netconfig wizard and execute viewnetconfig in a command prompt window to view your settings, the changes you made (such as adding a new DNS server) were not saved.

Cause

Your network settings were configured to use DHCP instead of a static IP address.

Resolution

Run the netconfig wizard again. When prompted to use DHCP or static network settings, enter static to prevent your system from configuring your IP address using the DHCP server.
