Overview

This article describes the issue when the Network maps fail to load in the web console with the following error:

Unexpected error: An error occurred while generating map 3be9a96b-2dcf-42f7-a7e2-4e295fdd8368.OrionMap

or

ERROR MapEngine - (null) Corrupted map 'Maps: b7a68083-62c4-4dca-86ce-3079042cdfa9.OrionMap'
SolarWinds.MapEngine.MapEngineException: Maps id:Maps: b7a68083-62c4-4dca-86ce-3079042cdfa9.OrionMap contains an old map.

Despite the error containing "Orionmap" the issue is related to Network Atlas. The map will appear fine in Network Atlas but will not load on the web console.

On the case of Orion Maps, it just displays that error

Cause

This issue occurs when Network Atlas/Orion Maps module has a lot of temp files.

Resolution

1. RDP to the Orion server
2. Go to the below location:
C:\Windows\TEMP\SolarWinds\NetworkAtlas\Orion\SolarWinds\NetworkAtlas\MapsWeb\Orion\localhost\
3. Delete the contents of the folder
4. Reload the website
