Create Nested groups in Orion Platform

Overview

In your Orion Platform products, you can create nested groups for your nodes and monitors. Nested groups are groups within groups.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the  Orion Web Console using an account with administrative privileges.
  2. Click Settings > All Settings > Manage Groups. By default, all groups both top-level and nested groups are listed.

    To display a hierarchical view of groups in your Orion Platform, change View Mode to Root Level Groups

  3. Select the Parent group where you want to add another group inside it by selecting the check box > Add New Group

        4. Add name and description of your group (description is optional) > Select Next
        5. Find the node(s) that you want to add by selecting the check box > Select Add to Group button > Once 
           nodes are added it should show on the right side of the box as shown below enclosed in red box

        6. Select the check box of the node (As shown inside the red box above) > Select Create Group once done

        7. You will be routed back to Manage Groups Page > Find the parent group where you added the nest
             group > Select the triangle button which is next to the check box to reveal the group under the parent
             group (see image below)

The nested group is created in the selected parent group. You can also add another group under the nested group by repeating the steps above. See sample below:
