Overview

This article provides  brief information and steps to resolve the issue when NCM reports show less or no data. For example, Cisco stack switch report not showing all the devices.

This report should bring all of your Stack Switches for your current environment, however,  you have noticed there are missing nodes from same vendor, same IOS or same configuration.

The following report is pulling data from the NCM_Entity_Physical table.  For example, NCM_Entity_Physical table as below:

If there is no data in the NCM tables, the node will not be included in the report at all.

By default, the above data has been collected through the NCM Nightly Network Inventory job.

Additionally, the existing NCM jobs will be stated in the NCM_NCMJobs table.

Within the NCMJobDefinitionXML, the following values should appear for InventorySettings to confirm the job is collecting Inventory data:

InventorySettings="Standard-Interfaces,Standard-ARP,Standard-Bridge Table,Standard-Entity MIB,Standard-IP Addresses,Standard-Active Ports,Route Tables-IP CIDR Route Table,Windows-Windows Services,Windows-Windows Software,Windows-Windows Users,Cisco-Cisco Chassis,Cisco-Cisco Memory Pools,Cisco-Cisco Cards,Cisco-Cisco Image,Cisco-Cisco Flash,Cisco-Cisco CDP,Cisco-Cisco FRU,Standard-Juniper Entity MIB,F5-System,F5-Local TM"

If InventorySettings are blank for all jobs, then NCM_Entity_Physical table will not be updated or blank.

Once the job is completed, the issue should be resolved.  If the problem persists, confirm if the NCM_Physical_Entities table has been updated.  If it remains blank or not updated, make sure some inventory options are selected below.  If the problem persists, please gather the diagnostics logs and open a support ticket for further review.

Note:  When editing this job make sure you have selected options to collect the inventory (see screen shot below ) only then the data will be collected from the device .
