Overview

When issuing a command with an NCM config change template containing \t, \s, \r or \n, NCM replaces it with a space and not the actual text.

Cause

In the configuration change template, when using scripts that contain what could potentially be recognized as a regular expression to account for white space, such as \t ,\s,  \n or \r, the script adds the white space.

For example:

http://someurl/OperatingSystems/Juni...5-domestic.tgz /var /tmp/

The /tmp is replaced with … tgz /var mp/, removing the /t and replacing it with a white space.

Resolution

  1. From the config change template used on the web, select the template and click Advanced Modify.
  2. Select Preserve white space.
  3. Save.

NCM now treats the characters as regular text and not a regular expression.
