Overview
The following error is displayed after entering the network share details and credentials while upgrading LEM:Mount error 112
Product section
Cause
This error may be caused by disabling support for SMBv1(client) in Windows active directory group policies, or directly by MS in your Windows release or the domain admin via GPO due to being outdated - i.e SMBv1 not as secure as compared to its counterparts SMBv2 and SBMv3.
Refer to Stop using SMB1 (© 2017 Microsoft available at https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/, obtained on June 12, 2017) for an explanation on why SMB1 is disabled in the latest Windows version.
LEM version up to and including 6.3.1 HF6, only supports SMBv1 Client protocol. Support for SMB v2 and V3 is planned in upcoming major releases of LEM.
Resolution
Perform any of the following options:
- Temporarily enable SMB1 and disable it after the upgrade. Refer to How to Enable/Disable SMB1 (© 2017 Microsoft, available at https://support.microsoft.com/, obtained on June 12, 2017)
- CD-ROM upgrade workaround for LEM 6.3.1
