Overview

This article discusses the possibility of monitoring overlapping or duplicate IP addresses on a Single Polling Engine using either the SolarWinds Windows or Linux Agent. (Systems Only)

Resolution

The SolarWinds Agents supports overlapping IP addresses without any issues.
The only case where this may not work is where the hostname, IP, and SID are all identical as a result of cloning/imaging the endpoint.
At the very minimum, the SID must be unique between each endpoint.
