How to monitor a failover cluster of Juniper firewalls.

Overview

Some users may want to monitor a failover cluster of Juniper firewalls. Since this is not presently supported in the SolarWinds Platform, it may be best to monitor active, passive, and VIP addresses.

Resolution

The cluster is accessed via a V.I.P. (Virtual IP address) and the active and passive physical IP addresses.
The passive IP is not accessible until the system fails over.
In order to monitor the cluster, it is best to monitor the VIP and the active and passive IPs.
