Resolution

  1. Open the SolarWinds Platform Web Console.
  2. Go to Settings > NCM Settings.
  3. In the Advanced section, click Device Templates.
  4. To help narrow the list of Templates, type a keyword and click the Magnifying glass to query.
  5. Put a check next to the template you want to modify, and click edit, then select edit using XML Editor.
  6. Since this is a default template, you need to duplicate and Edit.
  7. Input a name for the new template.
  8. If the template is intended to be used on a specific device, use sysObjectID from this device (value can be found in Node Details resource on Orion Web Console).
  9. Edit the device template and save.
  10. If you matched the sysObjectID to the device this is for or intend to replace the default template, set the flag to yes for Use for auto-detect. If you duplicated an OID or Device template name, and you have set this to Use for auto detect, disable the default template to be used for auto-detect.
