Modern Dashboard Node Status KPI drilldown shows data outside the active global filter in Solarwinds Self-Hosted Platform

This article discusses an issue where a Modern Dashboard Node Status KPI widget shows the correct filtered count on the source dashboard, but the drilldown page does not preserve the active global filter, causing the destination node list to display data that does not match the KPI value.

Overview

In SolarWinds Self-Hosted Platform Modern Dashboards, a Node Status KPI widget can display a correctly filtered count on the source dashboard, but clicking the KPI may open a destination page that no longer preserves the active custom-property global filter.

Symptoms

  • The Node Status KPI reflects the active global filter on the dashboard.

  • When the KPI is clicked, the destination opens the node list page.

  • The destination URL does not preserve or append the active custom-property filter.

  • The destination node list includes nodes outside the filtered scope.

  • The count shown on the KPI does not match the records displayed on the destination page.

Cause

When a user navigates from a dashboard page that already has global filters applied to another page through KPI drilldown, the destination page rebuilds filter state from the destination URL instead of merging it with the existing source-page filters for the same entity type. As a result, the original global property filters are removed.

Resolution

As of July 02, 2026, the fix implementation date has not yet been defined. There is currently no effective workaround.
