Cause

The issue is caused by a corrupted installation. There will be no errors or warnings during the installation and ARM will be installed and ready to use.
The only clue that something is wrong is that you will not see usually available scans like Teams and all other related Office365 technologies.

To ensure that ARM is installed correctly the steps below need to be followed.

Resolution

Before starting the installation of ARM you will need to copy the installation file locally on your server from which ARM server will be running. Many problems can occur if the installer is started from the Network share.
Prepare a service account that you will be using with ARM beforehand and make sure that it is a member of the local admin group.

To fix a problem mentioned in this article, we will perform a uninstall of ARM and clean installation.
Clean installation in the sense that all files from the installation folder will be deleted but all other configured data and stored scans will still be available in the database.

To uninstall and install again, please follow the steps:
  • Stop ARM Service
  • Check if the service account that you have used for the basic configuration is a part of the local admin group
  • Uninstall ARM from Apps and Features
  • Delete C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\ARM if present
  • Run the installer from the local path, make sure that you are not starting from the network share
  • And run the install with elevated privileges (Run as administrator)
After the installation is done, log in to the ARM config and check to see if all technologies are available this time.
