Migrated Report Writer reports missing from the Orion Web Console

The report is visible under Report Writer but is missing in the Orion Web Console. In addition, all other reports are missing.

Overview

You have migrated reports from an old server to a new Orion server under the Report folder and it is visible under Report Writer.

You are unable to see the newly migrated reports within the Orion web page:

Cause

  • After migrating Orion NPM to a new system, the reports were migrated manually from the Orion Report folder to the new Orion server.
  • SWIS failed to list those manually migrated reports.
  • The LimitationCategory column is empty on the ReportDefinitions table and needs to be filled.

Resolution

Resolution 1

  1. Restart all Orion services from the Orion Service Manager .

  2. Confirm whether the reports display in the Orion Web Console.

Resolution 2

  1. Connect to the Orion server.
  2. Open Database Manager from the Solarwinds Orion foder of the Start menu.
  3. Select Add Orion server and expand the SQL server and database in bold.
  4. Navigate to the Report Definitions table and double-click.
  5. Execute Query in the window on the right.
  6. Scroll right on the table and find the LimitationCategory column.
  7. Identify any blank entries and select Enable table editing.
  8. Add 'Default Folder' to the blank field(s) and press enter.

  1. Execute the query again to ensure the change is committed to the database.
  2. Check the Reports page on the Orion Web Console and confirm the reports are now displayed.
