Migrate the ARM database

  1. Stop the ARM service on the ARM server.

  2. Move the database from the source instance to the target instance.
    1. Detach the ARM database from the old instance.

    2. Copy the files using either the internal SQL Management Studio functions or by manually copying the files.

When moving or copying with the SQL Management Studio, ensure that the SQL Agent service is started on the target server that will receive the database and has administrator authorization.

    3. Reattach and connect the ARM database on the new instance.

    4. Confirm that the stored service account has the role dbowner on the database.

  3. On the ARM server under %ProgramData%\protected-networks.com\8MAN\cfg, rename the pnServer.config.xml to pnServer.config.xml.old.

  4. Start the ARM service and store the necessary data in the basic configuration.
    1. Verify if there are configuration adjustments in the old pnServer.config.xml.old and transfer them to the new pnServer.config.xml.
    2. Restart the ARM server
