Memory Used read out incorrectly in Orion

Overview

When memory statistics for a device in the Orion Web Console are not correct or show inaccurate data, this might mean the device uses a different Poller to gather the information. The article discusses what can be done when statistical data for device Memory shows the undesired data.

Cause

Memory poller is not providing desired data.

Resolution

  • From the SolarWinds installation folder, run PollerChecker.exe. See Use the Poller Checker tool.
     

    1. Set Polling Method to SNMP.
    2. Set Test On to Nodes.
    3. In the left column of the tool, select the desired node to check.
    4. In the middle column, select Memory.
    5. Click Detect Pollers.
 
  • Select a different memory poller, such as CiscoGen3.


  • Click Add / Replace Pollers.
 
  • Go to the Pollers database table to verify that the previous memory is not enabled and the new one is added and enabled.
