Map Name Format field in Intelligent Map Widget missing after upgrade to SolarWinds Platform 2024.2 and 2024.2.1

Overview

After upgrading to SolarWinds Platform 2024.2, the Map Name Format field no longer appears in the Intelligent Map widget under the Group Details page. In some cases, this issue also occurs after upgrading to SolarWinds Platform 2024.2.1.

Cause

This issue occurs because the previous JavaScript files are cached from SolarWinds Platform 2024.2, even after upgrading to 2024.2.1.
Additionally, the Map Name Format field is designed to appear only for the Intelligent Map widget on the Group Details page. If the widget is added to any other page, the Map Name Format field will not appear, which is expected behavior.

Resolution

If the map name format does not appear on the Group Details page after upgrading to SolarWinds Platform 2024.2.1, please try clearing the browser cache.

  1. Open the Developer Console. There are several ways to do this:

  • Control+Shift+I (Windows or Linux)
  • Option+Command+I (Mac)
  • Tools > Developer > Developer Tools...
  • Right-click anywhere on the page and choose Inspect
  1. Press and hold the Refresh Icon
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Empty Cache and Hard Reload

After clearing the cache, revisit the Intelligent Map widget on the Group Details page. The Map Name Format field should now be visible.
