Overview

A guide on how to manually uninstall Dameware Remote Support (DRS), Dameware Mini Remote Control (MRC), Dameware Exporter, and Server Roles from a machine. This article applies to all Dameware versions.

Manually uninstall Dameware Remote Support (DRS)

Note:

Installing a new version of Dameware automatically uninstalls the older version. If the automatic uninstallation does not work, follow the instructions below. Find more information here.

 

  1. Stop your Dameware Remote Support service.
  2. Delete the following folders:
    • (Note: Deleting this folder will affect all SolarWinds applications, not just application configurations but also licensing. Make sure that you are aware and have prepared for this.) 
  3. Delete the following icons:
  4. Delete the Registry keys mentioned below.

    Note:

    This key is unique for every version of the installation. To find it, search for the DisplayName key containing the Dameware Remote Support value. See the following example:

      •  - This key removes any custom protocols handled.
      •  - This key removes the application from the Programs and Features list.

Note:

This key is unique for every version of the installation. To find it search for the ProductName key containing Dameware Remote Support value. See the following example:

  • and remove  - This key removes any mark that an installation was performed. This key allows you to run a clean installation again.

The following are Registry values affected by the installation. It is not necessary to delete them:

  1. Close your Dameware Mini Remote Control service.
  2. Delete the following folders:

  1. Close your Dameware Exporter service.
  2. Delete the following folders:
