MDTM FTP command

The MDTM command implemented by FTP Voyager and Serv-U is used to preserve a file's original date and time information after file transfer. Traditionally, when a file is uploaded to an FTP server, the date or time of the file is set to the transfer date or time. Using MDTM, FTP Voyager can inform supporting FTP servers of the proper date/time to use for the file. The format of the command is MDTM YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.

    The MDTM command implemented by FTP Voyager and Serv-U is used to preserve a file's original date and time information after file transfer.

    Traditionally, when a file is uploaded to an FTP server, the date or time of the file is set to the transfer date or time. Using MDTM, FTP Voyager can inform supporting FTP servers of the proper date/time to use for the file. The format of the command is MDTM YYYYMMDDHHMMSS, where:

    • YYYY - the 4-digit year
    • MM - the 2-digit month
    • DD - the 2-digit day of the month
    • HH - the hour in 24-hour format
    • MM - the minute
    • SS - the seconds
