Log file rotation does not work in Kiwi Syslog Server

Overview

When setting up the log file rotation in Kiwi Syslog Server, might not work when Auto=split values are used in the file name or path.

Resolution

Using AutoSplit value can cause log file rotation to not work. An AutoSplit value such as %DateISO is not usually combined with Log File Rotation. When you enable the AutoSplit value %DateISO, the current log file age is always reset to 0 after a new filename is created.

Note: If you want to enable log file rotation, DO NOT use an AutoSplit value on the Path and file name of the log file.
