Limit concurrent sessions in Serv-U

This article provides steps to configure Serv-U to restrict the number of sessions that can be made by a User account or a Group to a Domain or an entire Serv-U server.

This article provides steps to configure Serv-U to restrict the number of sessions that can be made by a User account or a Group to a Domain or an entire Serv-U server.

Resolution

Limiting concurrent sessions per User:

  1. Open user properties > click Limits and Settings tab.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Add the Maximum number of sessions for the user account limit.
  4. Enter the number of sessions as an integer, and click Save.

 

Limiting concurrent sessions per Group:

  1. Open Group Properties > click Limits and Settings tab.
  2. In the Limits tab > Limit Type = Connection > click Add.
  3. Add the Maximum number of sessions for the group limit.
  4. Enter the number of sessions as an integer, and click Save.

 

Limiting concurrent sessions per Domain:

  1. Click the domain > Limits and Settings menu on the left-hand side of the Management Console.
  2. In the Limits tab > Limit Type = Connection > click Add.
  3. Add the Maximum number of sessions for the domain limit.
  4. Enter the number of sessions as an integer, and click Save.

 

Limiting concurrent sessions per Server:

  1. Go to Global > Limits and Settings menu on the left-hand side of the Management Console.
  2. In the Limits tab > Limit Type = Connection > click Add.
  3. Add the Maximum number of sessions for the server limit.
  4. Enter the number of sessions as an integer, and click Save.
