Overview

After uninstalling an application, it is still seen in the License Manager.

Product section

Kiwi Syslog Server

Cause

The SolarWinds License Manager shows license records, not installed programs. It keeps a local license repository tied to the server’s machine ID. When an application is uninstalled, such as the legacy Kiwi Syslog Server v9, the uninstall only removes the application; it does not clear the license record stored in License Manager. As a result, the “Kiwi Syslog Server v9 – Evaluation” entry is still listed even though the product is gone.

Resolution

If you want to remove the application record from the License Manager, SolarWinds Support has a tool to reset this for you. Contact us for assistance with resetting licenses. However, please note that the License Reset tool clears the local license cache for all SolarWinds products on that machine (Kiwi, Dameware, NTM, Orion, etc.). This means you will need to manually activate the licenses for all your SolarWinds products after running this tool.
