SEM 'exportcertrequest' is unable to generate CSR

What to do if you receive the following error when executing exportcertrequest: Failure: cp: cannot stat `/usr/local/contego/scripts/certs/certreq.csr': No such file or directory.

This article applies to Security Event Manager (formerly Log & Event Manager).
The following error occurs when executing exportcertrequest:

Failure: cp: cannot stat `/usr/local/contego/scripts/certs/certreq.csr': No such file or directory

Cause

The error is caused when the SEM host name begins with a non-alphabetic character, for example, 123swi-sem

Resolution

Change SEM host name. For example, swi-sem.
