Overview

The following error occurs when launching the Security Event Manager (formerly Log & Event Manager) Reports console:

Cause

  • Crystal Reports version 11 Runtime is not installed correctly.
  • More than one instance of Crystal Reports is installed on the same machine.

Resolution

  1. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features.  
  2. Locate Crystal Reports version 11 Runtime, and then uninstall it. 
    Note: Uninstall any version of Crystal Reports on your machine. This is to avoid interference.  
  3. Download Crystal Reports version 11 Runtime found on the Customer Portal and save it on your local machine. 
    NB: Launching the installer from a Network Share can cause failure.
  4. Extract the downloaded ZIP file. 
  5. Right-click SetupCR11.exe and select Run as administrator.
    Note: The error will reappear if you do not run the file as an administrator.
  6. Complete the installation and restart the SEM Reports console.

You should now be able to launch the SEM Reports console without the above error.
