Kiwi Syslog Server NG displays “Your license is expired” before the subscription ends
This message indicates that the maintenance period expired; it does not necessarily mean that the subscription has reached its final expiration date.

Overview
Kiwi Syslog Server NG can display “Your license is expired” after the maintenance expiration date while the web UI remains accessible, all features remain available, and events continue to be received.
Product section
Cause
Subscription licensing uses two expiration points:
- Maintenance expiration: Occurs 30 days before the final subscription expiration, or KillDate. The product remains usable, although an expiration message may appear.
- Final expiration (KillDate): The subscription ends, the product becomes blocked, and actions are no longer executed
Resolution
-
If the web UI is accessible, the dashboard continues receiving events, and the Licensing page shows a maintenance expiration date, the product is in the maintenance-expired state. No immediate product repair is required.
-
Treat the Expired date shown in the SolarWinds Customer Portal as the subscription’s final expiration date (KillDate), not the earlier maintenance expiration date. The Customer Portal and the Kiwi Syslog Server NG web UI display separate licensing information.
-
Renew or reactivate the subscription before the KillDate. After the KillDate, the product is blocked and actions such as archiving, cleanup, and other action-based processing are no longer executed.
NOTE: SolarWinds documentation does not explicitly guarantee that the Kiwi Syslog Server NG web UI remains accessible after the KillDate for re-registering an activation key. Renew or reactivate the license before the final expiration whenever possible.
Additional Notes
The maintenance-expired state and the final subscription-expired state have different product behavior. Do not use the “Your license is expired” message alone to conclude that the subscription has reached its KillDate.
