Kiwi Syslog Server NG Dashboard user display selector shows only numeric IDs instead of descriptive names

In Kiwi Syslog Server NG, the Dashboard User display selector can show only numeric values (for example, 1–20) even though rules that log to those displays use descriptive action names (for example, “MotorGenerator”). 

In the current Kiwi Syslog Server NG UI, the Dashboard User display selector reads the User display buffer name, not the name of the Log to display action in the rule.

• The rule’s Log to display action had a descriptive action name (for example, “MotorGenerator”) and pointed to a numbered display (for example, User display 16).
• The User display buffer itself retained its default numeric name, so the Dashboard continued to show only the number (for example, “16”) in the User display selector.

Because only the action name was changed and the underlying User display buffer name was left at its default, the Dashboard selector does not display the expected descriptive labels.

To display descriptive names in the Dashboard User display selector, you must rename the User display buffers directly from the Dashboard, not just the Log to display actions in the rules.

1. Sign in to the Kiwi Syslog Server NG web console with an administrator account.
2. In the navigation bar, click Dashboard.
3. In the User display drop-down list, select the User display you want to rename (for example, 16).
4. With that User display selected, click the edit (pencil) icon next to the display entry to open the rename dialog for the display buffer itself.
5. In the rename dialog, enter a descriptive name for the User display buffer and save the change.
   
   • You can include both the number and description in the new name (for example, 16 - MotorGenerator or 10 - MURAN + KRIVAN) so that the selector clearly shows which buffer is being used, especially when multiple rules write to the same display.
6. Repeat steps 3–5 for all other User displays that require descriptive labels (for example, ZRUBY, iLO, or shared displays such as KRIVAN / MURAN).
7. Return to the Dashboard and confirm that the User display selector now shows the custom names you assigned to each User display buffer for all relevant entries.

After renaming the User display buffers directly in the Dashboard, the customer confirmed that all desired names appeared correctly in the selector and the issue was fully resolved.
