Overview

The dashboard layout reversion in Kiwi Syslog Server NG was resolved by confirming the correct display was being edited, ensuring the service account had write access to the Kiwi directories, and resetting the dashboard display buffer by deleting the DisplayBuffer.json file before restarting the service.

Resolution

  1. Verify that the Kiwi Syslog Server NG service account (The KSS NG service account is the Windows account that the “Kiwi Syslog Server NG” Windows service is running under (the Log On As account in services.msc))  has write permissions to: C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\KiwiSyslogService\ and C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Kiwi Syslog Server NG.
  2. Stop the Kiwi Syslog Server NG service
  3.  Delete the file DisplayBuffer.json from the installation folder
  4. Then start the service again.
