How to Configure SSL in Kiwi Syslog NG

This article shows the steps for replacing the default SSL certificate in Kiwi Syslog NG.

Overview

Kiwi Syslog NG created a default self-signed certificate. There are instances where we want to use our own SSL certificates for KSS NG.

Resolution

HTTPS option is enabled by default. The default KSS NG SSL self-signed certificate is used. 

To change the SSL certificate, use the appropriate option in the settings. 

Note:

To apply changes to the SSL certificate a restart of the service is required.

 



To display the certificate in KSS NG, import it to the “Personal Certificates store." The next steps should be followed: 
 

  1.  Press the Windows key + R to bring up the Run command, type certlm.msc and press Enter 
  2. Import the certificate to the
    “Personal Certificates” folder. :  



 

Not “Any” certificate can be used - it should have Client and Server Authentications, the private key
