This article is for the installation of Kiwi NG in an air-gapped environment where there is no internet connectivity. All required .NET components must be pre-downloaded and installed in advance to ensure a successful installation.

Overview

Kiwi Syslog Server NG is built on ASP.NET Core, which requires the .NET runtime to run both the service and its web interface. Installing the correct .NET versions ensures Kiwi NG can start and operate correctly, and helps avoid compatibility or startup errors. In offline environments, these prerequisites can’t be downloaded automatically during setup, so they must be installed manually on the server before you install Kiwi NG.

  • Download Required Files
    • Download the latest Kiwi NG installer from the customer portal.
    • Based on your Kiwi NG version, download the appropriate 64-bit iASP.NET Core Runtime and NET Runtime
  • Install Required Prerequisites
    • Ensure the following runtimes are installed (64-bit versions):
      • ASP.NET Core 8.0 Runtime (v8.0.3)
      • .NET 8.0 Runtime (v8.0.3)
    • If these components are not already present, download and install them before proceeding.
  • Verify Additional Requirements
    • Confirm that .NET Framework 4.8 is installed on the system.
  • Run the Kiwi NG Installer
    • Execute the Kiwi Syslog NG installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
