Product section

Kiwi CatTools

Cause

Firewall or network connectivity issues

Another cause for this might be that the device is setup to use "Cisco SSH"

and/or

Kiwi Cattools does not support the MAC Algorithm below:
MAC Algorithms:hmac-sha1-96

Resolution

1.  Ensure that there is no Firewall or ACL that prevents Cattools from connecting to the device.
Run a manual Putty session on the device to check if you get the same behavior.
2. If 'Cisco SSH' or Telnet is selected, change this to SSH2.

Or

1. Run this command on the device
# Disclaimer: Scripts are not supported under any SolarWinds support program or service.

show ip ssh | inc Encryption|MAC
Algorithms:aes256-ctr
MAC Algorithms:hmac-sha1-96

2. After this change the algorithm using this command
# Disclaimer: Scripts are not supported under any SolarWinds support program or service.
# Scripts are provided AS IS without warranty of any kind. SolarWinds further disclaims all warranties including, without limitation, any implied warranties of merchantability or of fitness for a particular purpose.

ip ssh server algorithm encryption aes256-ctr
ip ssh server algorithm mac hmac-sha1

3.  Ensure that there is no Firewall or ACL that prevents Cattools from connecting to the device.
