Kiwi CatTools database and file backup

This article describes how to back up the Kiwi CatTools database and other critical files such as device files.

Overview

Kiwi CatTools should regularly be backed up in case of system failure. While you may choose to simply backup the CatTools database, there are other files which may be critical in your environment such as device backup files.

Note: The following information assumes that CatTools is installed in the default folder location - C:\Program Files (x86)\CatTools3.

Database Instructions 

Log in to Kiwi CatTools. Use the Backup current database menu to create a backup:

  1. Go to File > Database > Click Backup current database.

This will create a database backup file located in the following folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\CatTools3\KDB Backups\

 

As an extra precaution, you may also choose to export your database to text files.

 

File Instructions

Using your preferred backup software, make a copy of every sub-folder and file from the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\CatTools3\
