Kiwi CatTools stores the backup files in the configs folder under the installation folder which is "C:\Program Files (x86)\CatTools3\Configs\".
When the backup is run, it is compared to the previous backup and if there are no changes, the file in the configs is unchanged. If CatTools detects a change in the backup, it stores the old backup in the Dated configs folder and stores the latest backup in the Configs folder which is "C:\Program Files (x86)\CatTools3\Dated Configs"
To change the backup location to another folder, edit the activity then change the Current Config File path from the default "C:\Program Files (x86)\CatTools3\Configs\" to the desired location. The Dated Config File path should also be changed as well.
If a network path will be chosen as the new backup folder, the administrator needs to use a service account for the CatTools service that has proper permissions to the network folder.
