Cause

When running as a service, Kiwi CatTools is logged in as "Local System" which allows it to interact with the desktop, but will not allow it to write to mapped drives.

Resolution

If you want to write to a mapped drive, you must change the Kiwi CatTools service login to an Administrator account, or a user account that exists on both local and remote systems and uses the same password.

For example, create a CatTools user on both systems, give it the majority of permissions and set the passwords the same.

However, only the Local System user allows the application to interact with the desktop. This means the service edition will not be visible anymore. It will still run all the scheduled tasks, but won't be visible to users.

To make changes to the database or setup, you will need to run the Standard edition by clicking the "Remote access" button on the Manager. This will stop the service, open the standard edition and allow you to make changes. You can even run the schedules from the standard edition while you are logged in if you want. When you are finished making changes, simply close the Standard Edition and restart the Service from the Manager "Start" button.

When the service starts, it will automatically enter "Timer mode" after 5 seconds and start executing the scheduled activities.
