Overview

One or more KPI widgets on modern dashboards display stale data and do not update according to the refresh interval configured in the widget settings.

Observed behavior may include:

  • KPI widget values remain unchanged even though the underlying metric or entity data has changed.

  • The widget only updates after a full browser refresh, dashboard reload, or manual interaction (for example, reopening the dashboard or editing the widget).

  • Other widgets on the same dashboard update correctly, but specific KPI widgets do not.

  • The problem started after upgrading to SolarWinds Platform 2025.4, or after enabling/configuring modern dashboards.

Cause

This issue was caused by a known problem in the KPI widget refresh logic in SolarWinds Platform 2025.4, where the client-side auto-refresh timer is not triggered correctly for KPI widgets on modern dashboards under specific conditions.

Resolution

This issue is addressed in SolarWinds Platform 2026.1, available now as a release candidate. This fix will continue to be validated during this phase before general availability. Consider upgrading your environment.
