Cause

Because of a Java 14 bug, a missing avx CPU flag might prevent DPA from starting. For more information about the bugs, see:

(Content provided by OpenJDK, available at https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/,  obtained on March 27, 2020.)

For more information about compatibility, see Virtual Machine Compatibility  (©2020 VMware, Inc, available at https://docs.vmware.com/, obtained on March 27, 2020).

Resolution

Do one of the following:

  • Update your VM compatibility version to the latest one (for example, 6.7).
  • Upgrade JDK to a version in which the bug is fixed (11.0.8 or 14.0.1).
  • Add -XX:UseAvx=0 property to JAVA_OPTS for your JDK.
