Network Configuration Manager

Cause

This means that there are no Windows Servers licensed/managed in NCM, the Window Servers have not yet been inventoried or the Windows Server nodes are not polling via SNMP or SNMP is failing.

Resolution

  1. In the Orion Web Console, go to Settings >  Manage Nodes.
  2. Select the Windows server nodes, edit and confirm the Polling Method is SNMP.
  3. Click More Actions > Add Nodes to NCM, to license the nodes in NCM.
  4. Go to My Dashboards > Network Configuration > Jobs, and enable/create an 'Update Inventory' job type and click Edit.
  5. Include the newly added Windows Server nodes under 'Choose Nodes' and click 'Next'.
  6. Under the section 'Add Job Specific Details', check the boxes for 'Windows' MIB, click 'Next' and then 'Finish'.
  7. Select the 'Update Inventory' job and click 'Start Job' to collect inventory information.

Once the 'Update Inventory' job is completed, generate the 'Installed Software' or 'Installed Services' reports under Reports > All Reports.
