Infrastructure Component is Offline message prompting when accessing pages in IPAM

Overview

When attempting to browse to any IPAM views such as Manage Subnets and IP addresses, the following message appears,

Error Message:

Infrastructure Component is Offline

The Information Service and Orion Module Engine are required components for this website to function, and at least one of them is currently unavailable.

  • Possible incomplete upgrade or installation done

Resolution

Resolution 1:

Ensure that JobSchedulerHost is pointing to the correct SolarWinds Server:
  1. On the Orion server, open Database Manager and select Add Orion Server to connect to the SolarWinds database.
  2. Go to the WebSettings table, double click the table, and Execute the query:
  3. Look for the setting name JobSchedulerHost and ensure that the value is pointing to the hostname of the main SolarWinds server. If it's assigned to a different poller, update it:
a. Click Enable table editing.
b. Double Click on the SettingValue of JobSchedulerHost and update to the hostname of the primary Orion server.
c. Press Enter to save the adjustment.


Resolution 2:

If the steps above did not help, you may repair IPAM from Control Panel.
  1. Go to Add/Remove Programs (© 2012 Microsoft available at https://microsoft.com, obtained on November 27, 2018) on the SolarWinds server.
  2. Right-click and run a repair on the SolarWinds IP Address Manager product.
  3. Run the Orion Configuration wizard until finished.

If the above Resolutions fails perform a clean uninstall for fresh Orion re-install making sure that the installer used is Unblocked and run as Administrator.
