Importing Alerts containing SQL macro variables fails in the SolarWinds Platform 2022.1 and newer

When importing an alert containing SQL macro variables, the import fails with a permissions-related error.

Overview

Attempting to import an alert with SQL in it will fail with the following error:

Alert import failed with error: Account is not permitted to import SQL based Alert or Alert contains SQL variables

This error message occurs regardless of permissions level, even if the user is an admin in the SolarWinds platform.
