Hyper-v hosts in cluster stops polling regularly after you upgraded to 2022.4 or 2023.1 or 2023.2

Overview

After upgrade to 2022.4, you may find that Hyper-v hosts that are in a cluster are not reporting I/O stats data regularly.

The stats are collected just once, if you remove and re-add the Hyper-V hosts and stops polling. Example of single poll, last hour and last 24 hours metric not updated.

Some of you may notice Hyper-V hosts with a status message like below as symptoms.
- Could Not poll 
- Polling job finished with canceled state

Cause

This is a known issue in VMAN 2022.4

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMAN 2023.3. Please consider upgrading your environment.

Workaround
Switch polling method from VMAN to Basic polling for Hyper-V hosts in Cluster.
Hyper-V hosts outside cluster are not affected, VMAN polling should work.
