Hyper-V hosts show an Unknown status from the Virtualization tab summary.

Overview

Some of your Hyper-V hosts show an Unknown status from the Virtualization summary tab while others showing perfectly fine.

Resolution

  1. Go to http://yourOrionServer/Orion/VIM/Adm...rVServers.aspx
  2. Disable and enable Hyper-v Polling by checking the hosts showing as Unknown under polling method

 

 

If the above does not work, then 

  1. Stop all Orion services.
  2. Open Orion Database Manager > Add Default Server.
  3. Locate and right click the VIM_Polling Tasks > Query this table.
  4. From the query page, type.
Truncate Table [dbo].[VIM_PollingTasks]
Truncate Table [dbo].[VIM_ResourcePools]
