How to whitelist IP Addresses in Serv-U

Using the feature IP Access in Serve-U, an administrator control who can or cannot connect to the server by either allowing or denying that access based on the IP address of the machine.
These controls are processed sequentially and thus we recommend that the restrictive - Denied IPs - be at the top of the list and the Allowed IPs at the bottom of the list when using both options.

Example: If the an IP doesn't match either those listed as Denied at the Top of the list, it will be granted access to the server

Alternatively, you may configure the list to to have either only all Allowed IPs or only all Denied IPs

Note: You can use wild card entries to include a group of IPs

Serv-U Managed File Transfer & Serv-U FTP Server

• Launch the Management Console
• Go to Global > Server Details > IP Access tab
• Follow the exact order of the IP address permission below
  • Denied IPs should always be at the top of the order.
  • Whitelisted / Allowed IPs will be below the denied IPs.
  • You need to put the wildcard entry *.*.*.* and this should always be at at bottom of the IP list.

This setting can also be done in the Domain level.
Go to Domains > Domain Details > IP Access tab.

Configuring the IP Address in this way is also helpful if the Anti-Hammering feature is enabled in Serv-U.
