Overview

Serv-U allows 4 different user authentication methods to login to Serv-U (Domain Users, Database Users, Windows Authentication, and LDAP Authentication).
Domain Users are locally saved inside the Serv-U folder, which includes encrypted password information, home directories, virtual paths, and other user specific settings.
Moving Domain Users in Serv-U can be done different ways, and this article describes the method of manually copying user information and moving it to another Domain or User Collection.

  • User account will be moved immediately (no need to restart the Serv-U service), and can be validated by viewing the user list in TEST2 Domain

Notes:
  • The procedure above can also be followed when moving users from the Global user list, to any of the Domains.
  • The same Domain User can exist on multiple Domains
  • The directories above are for Windows, but the same procedure can be done for Linux deployments. The Linux path will be /usr/local/Serv-U/Users
