Overview

In most cases, your security team may change the way you access the SolarWinds Orion Web Console, using a nested Windows Active Directory (AD) group.

Resolution

Take it for example:
  • Parent Group "A" (already added as a group in Orion)
    • Child Group "B"
If User X is part of Group "B", then Group "B" should also be added to Orion as a group. Having ONLY the Parent Group "A" in Orion will not be able to let User X login to the Orion Web Console because it doesn't have a direct relation with Group "A".
