How to export syslog/traps using Log Viewer (Basic)

This article describes how to export out syslog/traps logs when you are using Log Viewer (Basic).
You may refer for the full list of features available with the Log Analyzer comparison here .

By design, there is no "Export" button available for Log Viewer (Basic).

• You may need to create a report with the data source as "Log Manager for Orion Nodes" in order to get the information you need.

• Then you can either export out the report as excel or schedule the report to be sent as a .csv, .pdf or html format.
• Sample Output below:

Steps:
1. On the web console, go to Reports > All Reports > Manage Reports
2. Create new Report > Select Custom Table
3. Select the source as: I want to report on >> Log Manager for Orion Nodes > Add to layout
4. Add Columns > Add the necessary columns like Caption, IP address, message under Log Manager for Nodes object
5. Time-based settings can be set to Yes or No > Submit
6. Click next to preview and submit to save the report
7. Go back to Manage reports and select the Report and View Report
8. Wait for it to load then you will have the option to export the report to excel or print
