Overview


When the FTP (port 21 or 990), HTTP (port 80) or HTTPS (port 443), and SFTP (port 22) listeners in Serv-U are enabled, all Serv-U users will be able to connect through any of those protocols by default. For instances where the Serv-U administrator does not want a Serv-U account to log in through a specific protocol (FTP/S, SFTP or HTTP/S) remove the listeners, we can configure this limit in the user level.

Resolution


To disable FTP or FTPS access for a specific Serv-U account:
 
  • Launch the Serv-U Management Console
  • Go to Domains > Users > Domain Users > edit the user account.
  • Go to the Limits & Settings tab > 'Connection' Limit Type
  • Edit the 'Allow FTP and FTPS connections' entry and click YES to create a new limit.
  • Uncheck the box beside Allow FTP and FTPS connections and SAVE.

To disable HTTP or HTTPS access for a specific Serv-U account:
 
  • Launch the Serv-U Management Console
  • Go to Domains > Users > Domain Users > edit the user account.

To disable SFTP access for a specific Serv-U account:
 
  • Launch the Serv-U Management Console
  • Go to Domains > Users > Domain Users > edit the user account.
  • Go to the Limits & Settings tab > 'Connection' Limit Type
  • Edit the 'Allow SFTP connections' entry and click YES to create a new limit.
  • Uncheck the box beside Allow SFTP connections and SAVE.
