Resolution

To customize the ARM email template, you should do the following:
  1. Know the location of the email templates
    • All email templates that ARM uses are located here - %ProgramFiles%\SolarWinds\ARM\etc\mails\
  2. Determine which email template do you need
    • As you can notice there are 7 folders that contain email templates                                            image.png

    • In this case, we will need to adjust the "Change" templates
  3. To ensure that change will be permanent and not lost after the upgrade we need to create additional folders in C:\ProgramData\protected-networks.com\8MAN\cfg. The folder structure should look like this - C:\ProgramData\protected-networks.com\8MAN\cfg\mails\Change.
  4. Once we have new folders, copy the content of C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\ARM\etc\mails\Change to C:\ProgramData\protected-networks.com\8MAN\cfg\mails\Change

  5. After this step, you are ready to change the template per your needs. Please note that there are two groups of mail templates, one is HTML and one is plain and both of them have templates for German and English.
  6. Save the changes and test the emails
