Overview
You may need to verify how frequently a node is being polled to understand data freshness, troubleshoot performance, or confirm that custom polling settings are applied.
This article explains how to:
-
Check the polling interval for an individual node.
-
Check the global polling interval used by nodes that inherit default polling settings.

Resolution
Check the polling interval for a specific node
-
Log in to the SolarWinds Platform Web Console.
-
Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Manage Nodes.
-
Locate the node (you can search by Caption, IP Address, or Node ID).
-
Click the node name to open the Node Details view.
-
Click Edit Node (or Edit Properties, depending on the UI).
-
Scroll down to the Polling section.
-
Review the following fields:
-
Status Polling Interval or Default Node Poll Interval – shows the polling interval configured for this node.
-
-
If the node is set to Use default polling settings, the node inherits its polling interval from the global polling configuration.
Check the global polling interval
-
From the Web Console, go to Settings > All Settings > Polling Settings.
-
In the Polling Intervals section, review:
-
Node Status Polling (for example, 120 seconds)
-
Statistics Collection (for example, 10 minutes)
-
-
The Node Status Polling value is the effective polling interval for all nodes that are configured to Use default polling settings, unless the polling interval has been overridden at the node level.
