In NCM, you may not know why a configuration change is not being detected. It is important to check the currently enabled Comparison Criteria settings.

You may perform the following:

  1. Query the NCM_CompareRegExs table
    1. Connect to the SolarWinds Platform server.
    2. Open Database Manager from the SolarWinds Platform folder of the start menu.
    3. Select Add Orion Server.
    4. Expand the SQL Server and database in bold.
    5. Navigate to the NCM_CompareRegExs table and double-click.
    6. Execute the query on the right to display the top 1000 rows.
  2. Get the RegExID of the Comparison Criteria in question.
  3. Right-click the database and select New Query.
  4. Paste and execute the following query:

SELECT TOP 1000 * FROM [dbo].[AuditingEvents] 
where auditeventmessage like '%XXXXXXXXX%'

NOTE: Change XXXXXXXXX with the RegExID of your Comparison Criteria.
