However, since Office 365 requires TLS Encryption, which is Explicit SSL/TLS (port 587) encryption only, this article describes how Office 365 SMTP Server will work in Serv-U Application.

Product section

Serv-U Managed File Transfer & Serv-U FTP Server

Cause

Serv-U does not support Explicit SSL/TLS (port 587). Some SMTP servers support Explicit SSL/TLS (port 587) encryption only. Therefore it is not possible to configure these servers in Serv-U directly.

Resolution

In order to setup the Office 365 SMTP server with TLS in Serv-U, configure your server with SMTP relay. Contact Dedicated Office 365 Administrator to SMTP relay connector.
