Option 1: Email Account Configured

If you have set an email account, you can use the "Forgot Password" feature to reset your password.

  1. Navigate to the login page of your KIWI Syslog NG installation.
  2. Click the "Forgot Password" link. You will be prompted to enter your registered email address.
  3. Check your email for a password reset link or instructions sent by KIWI Syslog NG.
  4. Follow the steps provided in the email to reset your password.

 
Option 2: No Email Account Configured

If you did not set an email account for password reset, unfortunately, the only way to regain access is to reinstall the application.


 
Configuring Email for Future Password Resets

To ensure you can use the "Forgot Password" feature in the future, configure the email settings immediately after reinstalling the application.

  1. After reinstalling KIWI Syslog NG, log in using the default admin credentials.
  2. Go to Admin > My Profile.

  • Set Admin Email:
    • Enter the email address you wish to use for password reset purposes.

  • Configure SMTP Server:
    • Navigate to Setup > Settings > Mail
    • Configure the SMTP server details to enable email functionality.

  • Save Settings:
    • Save the configuration changes to ensure the "Forgot Password" option becomes available for the default admin.
